What Is an ePTFE Explosion-Proof Valve?
An explosion-proof valve ePTFE integrates a microporous expanded PTFE membrane with a robust valve housing made of plastic, aluminum alloy, or stainless steel.
Under normal conditions, the valve functions as an ePTFE vent valve, ePTFE breather valve, or ePTFE pressure vent valve, allowing continuous airflow to balance internal and external pressure while blocking water, dust, and contaminants.
When internal pressure rises sharply — such as during lithium battery thermal runaway — the explosion-proof vent valve opens or ruptures instantly, releasing pressure safely to prevent enclosure rupture or explosion.
