The ePTFE Explosion-Proof Valve integrates a microporous ePTFE membrane with a structured housing (plastic, aluminum, or stainless steel). It allows continuous ventilation under normal conditions, but when internal pressure spikes — such as during thermal runaway in lithium batteries — the valve ruptures or opens instantly to safely release pressure, preventing device explosion or structural failure.
